Darby began wrestling at 4 years old. He wrestled in multiple national freestyle tournaments growing up where he placed as high as 4th. Darby is 2x WIAA state placer and graduated number 5 on Bellingham High School's all time win list. He competed in MMA, boxing and kickboxing. Additionally, Darby coached boxing, kickboxing and CrossFit. He has coached wrestling as an assistant at Philomath High School, Squalicum High School and Bellingham High School. Currently, he is the head wrestling coach and assistant track coach at River Ridge High School.

Nathan wrestled for the high school of Saint Thomas More in Cahmpaign, IL where he was a 2x placer (4th) in Class 1A in the IL State Tournament.
After graduating high school in 2010, Nathan was recruited to wrestle at the United States Military Academy at West Point. At West Point, he wrestled for four years and competed in the varsity starting lineup his junior and senior years. Nathan graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Management and a Minor in Systems Engineering in 2014 and was commissioned in the Army in the branch of Logistics. After his college career, Nathan spent time coaching as a volunteer in IL, FL, and VA, and worked as Head Coach for the Daegu American High School in Daegu, South Korea.
